Fool's Gold

In the 19th century, gold prospectors often found iron pyrite in great volumes and mistook it for gold, truly believing they had discovered the mother lode of all deposits. This is also the journey of an independent artist in India. We dig and dig, only to uncover more of the same : Fool’s Gold. The album title is a satirical take on the band’s journey to get this far, to keep the music alive despite insurmountable odds, line-up changes, and the ever-crushing perversions of the free market. The album contains songs ranging from psychedelic blues to straight-up electric blues and rock ’n’ roll, ending with some gentle Floyd-esque whisper rock. Lyrically, the songs weave a tale of the tiring human experience, altered mental states, crushing depression, the predictable results of simp-age, aggressive romancing, burning guitars, and a nuclear winter to cap it off.

The artwork leans heavily into this concept, visualising iron pyrite in the form of a vinyl record, symbolising the artists’ journey to this point in their lives.
