Burn My Guitar
Album Art / Digital Artwork / 2023
Burn My Guitar is the first single from Duneheart’s upcoming album "Fool’s Gold", which is expected to be the most liked song on the album because of its sheer hooky quality. The band describes the track as “a love song about hate and a hate song about love.”
Visually, a classic Telecaster is engulfed in roaring flames and crumbling into embers, exactly the kind of “beautiful thing turned to ash” metaphor the lyrics build around. The billowing black smoke in the artwork mirrors that sense of turbulent catharsis. It’s not just a burning guitar, but a small storm of ash and fury, echoing the song’s jagged shifts. The subtitle In Your Name in blood-red type drives home the idea that this destruction is voluntary. A communion of pain offered up to someone else. The guitar’s neck fracturing into shards speaks to the lyrics’ promise of self-immolation for love or revenge. Every element visually amps up exactly what the song is doing sonically: turning pure guitar-powered passion into a destructive ritual.
