Short Film / Oil Pastel on Paper / 2023

Photocopy is an independent short animated film based on a true story about falling in love at first sight, and all the efforts and awkwardness that come along with it. A boy goes out to photocopy a piece of paper and falls in love with a girl working there. He then makes several attempts over the course of a month to ask her out.

The film’s visuals were born out of nostalgia and created using mixed media. The playful, simple characters and vibrant backgrounds are inspired by my childhood drawings and were made with oil pastels on A4 cartridge paper, with final touches and enhancements added digitally.
